PMS Integration Overview

DACK easily integrates with your PMS to pull in your properties and reservation details. The following details will be available via the integration:

Properties

  • Property Name

  • Property Address

  • Property Photos (only one photo is featured in the app, and in some instances we will not pull a photo, but they can be easily added to unit settings)

Note regarding Property Name: Many operators ask what property title displays in DACK. Most PMS vendors offer two property titles "Internal" and "Marketing / External" names. DACK displays the marketing name to guests as this is most likely the name they will recognize from their booking. In the Dashboard, you will notice both titles listed in various places. You are also able to create a custom display name by visiting Unit > Settings > Display Details & App Information.

Reservations:

  • Guest Name

  • Guest Email

  • Guest Phone (required for app registration)

  • Reservation Dates

  • Key Codes for some PMS integrations (see below)

PULLING Access Codes (PMS to DACK)

Access management vendors often create their own integrations with PMS vendors (e.g. Remote Lock, Lynx, Point Central, etc). DACK often has the ability to pull from these endpoints directly. So for example, if you are using Remote Lock and StreamlineVRS, DACK can pull the keycode that Remote Lock is pushing to StreamlineVRS from its integration with Streamline. Nothing needs to be done on your end to set this up. We will automatically pull the keycode when it's available, allowing you to easily control access from within the app. DACK will get access codes from PMS integrations automatically if the endpoint is available to DACK.

PUSHING Access Codes (DACK to PMS)

If you integrate your locks with DACK, depending on the PMS, we are able to push the key codes to the PMS. The PMS vendor would need to open a keycode endpoint in DACK. The availability of this endpoint is indicated on the list below. Sometimes the keycode endpoint is a specific "DACK" keycode endpoint and sometimes a generic "Keycode" field.

How to use a DACK keycode in your PMS communication?

If we are able to push a keycode to your PMS, you're not limited to DACK's messaging system to relay keycodes and other important information to your guests. For example, in Guesty the shortcode variable {{key_code}} will automatically be populated by DACK with a unique keycode if you have digital locks connected to your Guesty properties in DACK. You simply need to add the shortcode to your messaging in Guesty to facilitate this (see below).

Sometimes this keycode field is named something specifically for DACK, for example in StreamlineVRS DACK writes to a specific DACK shortcode available in the messaging center, you would use the "DACK Lockbox" keycode field when creating messaging.

Webhooks & Syncing Reservations

For most PMS vendors reservations will sync every 10-15 minutes with DACK's system. This depends on the integration type and availability of "webhooks". For systems without "webhooks", you may notice a delay of up to 24 hours when creating a new reservation.

For PMS systems that don't have webhooks, we recommend using DACK for a booking confirmation text message with the DACK download link to avoid guests from attempting to utilize the guest app before their reservation is in the DACK system. For more best practices around messaging, see this article.
