Once your smart lock integration with DACK is complete, you will have the ability to assign each lock to the proper unit.
Note: Once a device is assigned to a unit, you will no longer need to manage access codes through your lock management system. To prevent multiple softwares overwriting each other, we strongly recommend you do not use any other access code management software to setup or manage access codes.
DACK will automatically generate new access codes for all new guests/ reservations and allow operators to manually assign backup codes, as well as staff codes. Again, it’s important to avoid managing codes in both systems (DACK & your lock management system) as there is a possibility one will overwrite the other, causing access issues.
To assign a lock to a unit:
Go to Property Management> Units and click into a property
Go to the Access tab at the top then scroll down the Access Control Summary section and click on “Front Door”
NOTE: If a guest is currently staying in this unit and there is a “Guest Access” code currently assigned, make sure to write this code down before moving onto the next step as we will want to assign this as a Backup Code afterwards. (See Assigning Backup Codes below)
2. Select Edit and choose the desired lock from the drop-down in the “Assigned Device” field
3. Select Save in the upper right corner when done
Assigning Backup Codes
In this section, you may see any Backup Codes that have been assigned to this lock within your lock management system. You may add new codes, delete existing codes or mark existing codes as used/ unused. When a lock is assigned to a unit, 2 backup codes are automatically generated.
To assign new backup codes:
Go to Property Management> Units and click into a property
Go to the Access tab at the top, then scroll down the Backup Codes section
Select Add New Code to the far right
Enter the desired code, then select Add Backup Code at the bottom
If you have a guest that will be using this backup code or just want to remember to delete the code later, select the checkbox to the left of the code and select the Mark Used option above
